Waiting on due season

Today was not the best day. Frayed nerves, upsetting circumstances, heated words and she walked out. On her co-workers, those she cares for, but to my angry heart, she walked out on me and the kindnesses I've shown her over the past several months. Honestly, it makes me wonder if helping people is worth the trouble. It seems I've had so much of this kind of disappointment over the past several months. What am I not doing correctly? Should I have any expectations that people are going to do the right thing? Then my sweet and loving Father speaks to my downtrodden heart. He gently reminds me that because I am His, I will face these kinds of moments. He reminds me of the innumerable times I have lashed out at Him because I didn't see the whole picture. He reminds me of the times that I thought my way was "right thing" only ended up truly just being "my way". He reminds me that He has called me to love... in spite of the response. He also reminds me that His Word is true... "And let us not be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." Eph. 6:9 I'm looking forward to due season!
